World premiere of a new series on OUTtv - it's a behind-the-scenes look at the filmmaking process, through a queer lens.

Two Queens and a Castle

Millionaire Terry George and Michael Rothwell made history in 2005 with the first UK Civil Partnership. Now they open the doors to their grand castle for a peek at their opulent lifestyle.

EPISODE 1 - TWO QUEENS AND A CASTLE: BIRTHDAY PARTY
In this episode, Terry arranges a surprise 40th for Michael. Enlisting the help of his hassled assistant Mark, Terry tries to pull together a huge Moroccan themed party complete with camels, fire breathers, stilt walkers and snake charmers.

But will Michael get wind of the activities ahead and pull out?

A mad montage of entertainment ensues – with Michael as the main cause of entertainment. Terrified of snakes, they insist on wrapping an albino boa round his neck, drag him up for the belly dancing and give him a real treat in the form of a human cake!

EPISODE 2 - TWO QUEENS AND A CASTLE: LEEDS PRIDE
Terry and Michael want to make Leeds Pride memorable. Having been persuaded by their Promotions Manager to try and beat the World Record for the Drag Queen Chorus Line, Terry suggests they hold Drag Queen Auditions.

The auditions are memorable – but for the wrong reasons. Hardly anyone turns up and the pickings are lean – immediate jeopardy – will they even stand a chance of breaking the World Record?

EPISODE 3 - TWO QUEENS AND A CASTLE: MR GAY UK
Michael and Terry put their hapless manager Darrell in charge of organising their biggest event of the year. It’s clear from the initial meeting that Darrell has not a clue, which sets the scene for the chaos to come.

As the day of the event arrives, Michael and Terry arrive to find the venue is a tip and no work has been done. The posters don’t have a time on, the contestants haven’t been registered, the stage is still not built.

It’s down to Terry and Michael to take charge and they start by sorting out the backstage area, hoovering and clearing up in a race against time.

Darrell tries to sneak off to the gym with the Mr Gay UK contestants, but is told to return to the Ritz as soon as the boys are dropped off. Terry meanwhile manages to sneak off and enjoys a few hours peace – leaving Michael to do all of the work.

EPISODE 4 - TWO QUEENS AND A CASTLE: VILLAGE FETE
Always happy to help the community, Terry and Michael get involved with the Blackshawhead Village fete in an attempt to raise money for their community hall roof.

Having agreed to have a stall each and to help organise the fete on the day, no time is spared as Michael cracks on with making his fairy cakes and Terry races through the castle finding bric a brac to sell.

Having done a huge PR trail down their local high street helping to publicise the float they are all set for the big day! What would possibly go wrong...?

EPISODE 6 - TWO QUEENS AND A CASTLE: BONFIRE NIGHT
5th November normally sees almost 1,000 revellers descend upon the castle to witness Terry and Michael’s legendary Bonfire Parties.

This year they change the venue to Victoria Works, a former factory built on the edge of Leeds city centre, making the location much more accessible for all of their guests.

With the help of younger brother Darren, Michael and Terry begin to organise the party, ordering magnificent firework displays, fairground rides, toffee apples and of course, the bonfire.

The invites are ready to print, but there’s no start time on them and the directions are much too small! With the credit crunch biting at all levels, Michael is worried that the delays in printing could cost them a fortune in extra postage – which they can ill afford.
