South Carolina is So Gay
…but I guess they don’t want to be! Did you see the news article about these ads that were posted in London promoting 5 major US cities aimed at gay European tourists?
This was all part of London’s Gay Pride week and the posters are causing a major uproar in South Carolina. The other cities advertised in the campaign were Atlanta, Boston, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Washington where no negative feedback was reported.
South Carolina’s Republican State Sen. David Thomas is protesting the campaign and says “South Carolinians will be irate”.
Andre Roberts executive of Amro Worldwide, the travel agency that commissioned the ads says the campaign was designed to “send a clear message to everyone who sees this campaign that it is long past time that “so gay” should be used as a negative phrase of disapproval.”
