Celebrate Legalized Same-Sex Marriage at Pride Toronto

Posted on June 1st, 2010 by Vanessa

In celebration of five years of legalized same-sex marriages in Canada, for the first time ever, 10 couples from across North America will be invited to come to Toronto and exchange vows in front of 1.3 million supporters.

This historic event – a first in Pride History – will take place on a moving float as it makes its way through the Toronto’s 30th annual Pride Parade.

5 of the 10 couples will be from the U.S., where same-sex marriage is still illegal in the majority of the country, to show solidarity and support for the gay community and equal marriage rights.

All marriage licence, transportation and accommodation costs will be covered by event sponsor, ManCrunch.com. In addition, a reception will be provided for the newlyweds to share their stories with the media.  For complete details go to www.pridetoronto.com.

Couples are invited to go to www.mancrunch.com/marriage and let us know why they want to be a part of this monumental occasion – Deadline for submission is 12:00am Monday, June 21st
