Yes, it’s been a slow week for me – I had a wedding last Thursday evening at a chiropractor’s office (where the couple promised to love each other in spinal alignment and out) and then the weekend off with Paul and the dog.
Yes, it’s been a slow week for me – I had a wedding last Thursday evening at a chiropractor’s office (where the couple promised to love each other in spinal alignment and out) and then the weekend off with Paul and the dog. This week, I finally bought a car. Couldn’t stand it anymore. I bought a Honda Civic so as to save a few bucks on gas and at least make a smaller carbon footprint. I’ve often wondered, you know, if I’m wearing heals, doesn’t that count for leaving a smaller footprint? I dunno.

Anyway, it’s Saturday, the 6th now and I’ve got one couple all hitched up at Newland’s Pavillion and have one more to go. We’ve weathered the “champagne flute fiasco” ok, for wedding number two, too. They can indeed drink out of glasses that do not say bride and groom!

For #2 couple, I managed to pack the Honda up yesterday – had to give it a try, anyway: 80 chair covers, 1 bridal bouquet, 2 bridesmaid’s bouquets, 2 boutineers, an aisle runner, 1 laptop and case, 1 purse, 3 bags of groceries and of course, my wedding planner “kit” that has important stuff like the staple gun and the duct tape in it. It all fit, too!

Got Treasure Island Banquet facility all set up and then when I opened the door to get some air in, Gustav blew (he’s a hurricane, get your mind outta the gutter!) in and topped a bunch of stuff. Set it all up again and then got out that big machine that goes on the floor – it’s not something I’m familiar with, but I think I’ve heard Paul call it a “vaccum”.

Home now in-between gigs, will do my crossword, make sure the camera is charged and then head out again to the Treasure Island hall where I’ve got to put the rosesin the vases before the ceremony. I’m picking Pete up too – our favourite photographer/sailor, so that’ll be a fun drive down to the East of the city.

We went to Fare in the squa’re this am, with Kim – great food, but geesh – Olivea – you’re across the street, surely YOU could have had hotter food and come on, sausages with onions and peppers – that’s what we have for supper when we’re going cheap on greasy! Ya think you coulda put a bit of effor into it??! Next to the grilled Emu salad (le Chien Noir) and that fab stuff from Luke’s – well, sad, very sad. At least it wasn’t Maple Leaf cold cuts, I guess!

Back soon !
