Every audition season thousands of hopeful and most likely talented designers besiege the auditions of Project Runway Canada. Fashion students, self-taught sewers and seamstress’s alike brings friends, family, lucky charms and racks of samples to the be judged. Sadly many are not selected and even more unfortunately get so discouraged they leave Canada altogether.

In the most recent issue of FAB Magazine (http://www.fabmagazine.com) I challenge my readers and gay men alike to ONLY wear Canadian designers for a season. The preference being Toronto-based designers first. Not only does this help the local and national economies, it keeps and fosters Canadian designers where they belong, in Canada. It’s time we celebrated and wore our own!!

However if you’ve got the talent and/or got the “heave-ho” or the dreaded “nothing response” from Project Runway Canada, there’s hope from all places Holt Renfrew (http://www.holtrenfrew.com).

Holt Renfew and Modern Amusement is looking for the next great Canadian designer. The deal is you create a t-shirt design using M.A.’s signature Crow, submit it and it is judged.

T-shirt designs can be submitted via email until 11:59 p.m. on May 15, 2009. Up to 30 top designs will be selected by Holt Renfrew and Modern Amusement and posted on-line at Holt’s web site where Canadians will be asked to cast their vote for the best t-shirt and shortlist three lucky finalists. Voting will begin May 26 and runs until June 12, 2009.

The grand prize winner will be selected by Holt Renfrew and Modern Amusement and announced on June 25, 2009. The winner will be sent on a three-day trip to L.A. to experience the Modern Amusement design environment and will see their t-shirt produced and sold exclusively at Holt Renfrew in Canada.

I found out about this really cool viral promo contest where you can enter for a chance to compete to win a new Nissan Cube.  The contest is brilliant and the the Cube vehicle is pretty cool! However, to win, you are going to have to put on your thinking caps! Competition is fierce….Oh, and if any of you do win- you will have take me for a spin on every hot, sunny, sexy Sunday for one whole year! ( okay , that’s not part of the contest, but it would be nice! )

Okay I was trying to do some really cool video stuff for my blogs as ambassador but I am having problems posting them. Life is quite chaotic as usual and I just want to put something up here so I can not let my fellow ambassadors down.

I am writing this while listening to really sad songs form musicals – I finally found a man that I realy cared about and I have to let him go. It’s way too complicated but lets just say I am the other woman. I didn’t know that when we started though, so now I am ending it.

But I am clown and have to put on a hppy face right – the coolest thing I can think about reporting is that the annualk Word On the Street Festival is tommorow. I have hosted the mainstage for the last 8 years or so and this year I convinced the organzaers to throw caution to the wind and feature my gang from Bob Loblaw Queer Comedy Troupe and they said “yes!” How cool is that. An openly Queer group perfoming at a public family event.
