The DL Chronicles

The "DL Chronicles" tells the stories of men of color who by consequence and by choice, live sexually duplicitous and secret lifestyles. Narrated by aspiring journalist, Chadwick Williams, as he pursues research while authoring a book about MSM (Men who Sleep with Men) aka "The Down Low," we enter into a provocative and intriguing world of sexual discovery, denial, betrayal, love and loss. From a highly desired successful executive to a hyper-masculine player, from the happily married father of two to the college athlete's first love, each episode will delve into the different lives and experiences of DL men of color across social, cultural, and economic boundaries. The "Down Low" is a slang term sometimes used to refer to African-American men who identify as being straight, but secretly engage in sexual activity with men. They date women, have children, and often marry in an effort to appear heterosexual to the public. Most of these men do not identify as gay or bisexual and refuse to be associated with the gay identity or gay community.

SEASON 1 | EPISODE 1 - Wes

Wes (Darren Schnase) rushes home to a dinner party that his over-bearing wife (Jessica Beshir) is throwing. When he arrives he is met by his wife's hot younger brother, Trent (Ty Vincent). Wes tries desperately to suppress his lust for his brother-in-law by drinking heavily throughout the dinner.

But later that night, while Wes' wife sleeps, the sexual tension between the two men bubbles over. They make desperate, passionate love. The next morning Wes wakes up naked, hung-over, and conflicted, knowing that he must reconcile his gay lust with the hetero existence he desperately wants to keep.

SEASON 1 | EPISODE 2 - Robert

Robert (Terrell Tilford) is a closeted talent agent who enjoys a brief flirtation with Austin (Kareem Ferguson), a hot health food store manager twenty years his junior. By chance, the two men meet again in a sex chatroom. Robert has never slept with the same man twice, but Austin convinces him to take it slow, and the two men begin dating. Robert falls hard for his new boyfriend, but when the truth is exposed, Robert lets his shame get in the way of his budding relationship.

SEASON 1 | EPISODE 3 - Boo

Boo (Oneil Cespedes) is an ex-convict, a mooch, and a player who lives his life on the DL. His girlfriend (LaToya Haynes) is fed up with Boo's cheating and kicks him to the curb. Boo's mother tells him it's time to settle down, but Boo is unfazed and continues having sex with multiple partners, including an unprotected romp with Deron (Anthony Clark), his neighborhood friend. But when shocking news rattles Boo, he is forced to reconsider his reckless life on the DL.

SEASON 1 | EPISODE 4 - Mark

Mark (Ulrich Que) and Donte (Colbert Alembert), a loving couple who have been living on the DL, are jolted by the unexpected arrival of Mark's thuggish cousin, Terrell (Dee Givson), who shows up at their house needing a place to crash. Desperate to keep their relationship a secret, Mark asks his boyfriend to pretend he's straight. When Donte reluctantly agrees to play the part of Mark's "roommate" for their new houseguest, a chain of humorous events unfolds, and Mark eventually comes to realize the ridiculous nature of living on the DL in their own home.
