Don't Quit Your Gay Job

OUTtv Original Series

Rob and Sean are gay and working your gay job....

Best friends Rob Easton and Sean Horlor are determined to figure out what it takes to make it “out” there in the big wide world.

The premise: Rob and Sean meet someone doing a job. That person teaches them how to do it. And then they compete to see who does it better.

Don’t Quit Your Gay Job showcases the personal successes and humiliating disappointments of these two friends as they strive to find themselves and new perspectives while learning about gay life on the job.

Watch their experiences unfold on camera and their interpretations of the events, people and places they discover along the way. From runway modeling to entering one of North America’s largest bus rodeos to an epic strip performance in Vancouver’s largest gay club, there is nothing these two friends won’t do to in their pursuit of the ultimate job.

Rob Easton:

Rob Easton is a Vancouver-based journalist, broadcaster and performer.

He spent much of his life on Vancouver Island, growing up in Campbell River and Victoria. Then at the age of 24, he set forth upon the world to discover what lies beyond the Rocky Mountains, living in Montreal and flirting now with other possibilities.

Don’t Quit Your Gay Job has opened many doors in his life. He’s always had a great memory for people and places, and now it seems many of those people in Vancouver who he knew are starting to know him back. He’s also learned through competition with his co-creator and co-host Sean that he really doesn’t like losing. It must be the only child in him.
His working life consists of freelance reporting with CBC Radio, Xtra West, and the Georgia Straight as well as the general jack ass of all trades at 1181 Tight Lounge on Davie Street in Vancouver’s West End. He also performs with Canada’s foremost men’s choir Chor Leoni.

Sean Horlor:

Sean Horlor is a Vancouver-based author, actor, columnist and blogger. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Sean grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, and currently resides in Vancouver’s West End. He has an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the University of Victoria.

Sean is the co-creator and co-host of Don’t Quit Your Gay Job, a new comedy series premiering on OUTtv this fall. His experiences on the show determined the following two life-changing realizations:

1. He really likes taking all his clothes off for large crowds.

2. He looks like a beefy Britney Spears in drag.

His first book, Made Beautiful by Use, was published by Signature Editions in 2007. The book explores...you guessed it…sex, drugs and life in the city. Made Beautiful by Use received positive reviews from numerous literary journals across the country. He is currently designing a Fall/Winter line of fashion poetry for a literary collaboration with Toronto-writer David Brock titled Haute and Cool: Couture Poetry by David Brock and Sean Horlor.

One of Vancouver’s most-visible social reporters and event hosts, Sean also writes Cocked & Loaded, the social column for Xtra West, Vancouver’s GLBT bi-weekly, and launched Up Your Alley for Xtra.ca, which has the dubious honour of being Vancouver’s first official gay blog.
