TANLINES turns up the heat at the best beaches and favorite exotic hot spots worldwide. Each week, host Chris Jackson takes you to a renowned exotic beach or summer hot spot. He explores the local beach culture, summer festivals and nightlife at each exciting location. It's a chance to see beaches like you've never seen them before. From Kite Surfing on the shores of Quebec's Magdalen Islands to the pulsating post-sunset nightlife of Miami's South Beach where the partying continues long after the sun sets. No matter what the location Chris never stops bringing you the action….from sunrise to well after sunset, Tanlines is white-hot! |

Episode #1 |
A hard-partying Australian surfer who divides most of his time between catching waves and inhaling bong hits begins to feel the claustrophobia of small-town life as he experiences a sexual awakening that will change the way he views the world around him in director Ed Aldridge's sun soaked coming of age story. Midget Hollows (Jack Baxter) is a carefree teen who's content just living it up on the beach with his free-spirited friends, but when Midget's best friend's gay brother returns to town after four years traveling Europe the conflicted surfer begins to experience an attraction he never anticipated. Not only does recently returned traveler Cass exhibit a worldly confidence that betrays his small town roots -- he's also a master on the waves who isn't ashamed of his homosexuality. It isn't long before Midget and Cass are caught up in a passionate affair, though he begins to sense a fundamental incompatibility with his newfound lifestyle and the close-minded culture that he inhabits. Now, despite Midget's close bond with longtime gal pal Betty, he begins to weight the freedom of moving to a place where he can finally be himself against the deep roots he has within the community. Follow Tanlines' host Chris Jackson to Vancouver British Columbia and visit the historic Stanley Park and its beaches. Next we visit the sea mammals at the Vancouver Aquarium and then Chris heads to False Creek for the Alcan Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival. Come evening, we go to Bard on the Beach to see Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. |

Watch as Chris gets a kayak lesson from a real pro and check out the 6th Annual Mamquam Whitewater Festival. |

Valleyfield, Quebec turns up the high-octane energy with the Molson Ex Regatta --soak up the festival atmosphere and catch some of the high-speed action. We'll also head into the restricted access "boat pit" area to meet the dare devil pilots behind the wheels. Then, we'll let the racers do their thing while we turn our attention to the nearby Rouge River for a wild whitewater rafting experience. Finally, watch the Regatta finals, meet the winners and hang out for the after-party. |

Learn more about Muskoka, Ontario --a cottager's haven, and then follow Chris Jackson, as he checks out the 14th Annual Huntsville Bath Tub Derby. Watch and laugh as he dresses like a clown and gets in on the tub-action. Later we'll check out PaddleFest, where we'll meet kayak and canoe enthusiasts, including Kirk Whipper, who was awarded the order of Canada for his lifetime's work in the world of canoeing. |

20,000 locals and visitors are congregating on sandy shores of Long Lake (in Yellowknife) to take in the festival atmosphere at Folk on the Rocks --hear some acts and meet the performers. Everyone will head for the hills to hit trails that are a mountain bikers dream come true. We'll also head to K&D Kennels to see their Alaskan Huskies and their puppies. We'll say good night from the land of the midnight sun with a drum performance on the beach. |

Get in on the action as power boaters descend on Penetanguishine, Ontario for the 14th Annual Power Boating Canada Georgian Bay Poker Run, considered the granddaddy of all poker runs. Then it's a visit to the neighbouring Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, to take a canoe ride and net a few marsh critters. Finally, things wind down with a look at the comedic theatrics at King's Wharf Theatre nestled within Discovery Harbour. |

Chris Jackson heads to nearby Quincy Bay, near Sandbanks for a hard days work aboard Captain Rob Brown' cruiser. Later, he'll shoot the breeze with a strong man-slash-preacher, at the Picton Highland Games and check out some traditional Scottish Highlands dancing. Finally, the day ends back at the dunes for a nature hike to learn more about the amazing Sandbank's coastal sand dune. |

On this special edition of Tanlines, host Chris Jackson heads to Montreal, Quebec for "Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada". We'll catch up with the girls for some pre-show fun at the Montreal Hippodrome racetrack where the jockey's will take them for a spin. Come evening, the girls will head off to a Luau party, where we'll dance the night away, but also meet the president and founder of Hawaiian Tropic. The fun doesn't end until you see first hand what a pageant is all about - the bikini contest! |

Chris Jackson checks out Gimli, Manitoba's 113th annual Icelandic Festival. He'll battle it out in the Islandingadunk - a Viking show of brute strength and balance. Then he'll try one of the festival's more contemporary games -Frisnock. After working up an appetite, Chris tastes some Icelandic specialties and then takes in some Nordic Folk music on the main stage. In the evening he attends a schmooze fest aboard the Black Hawk, to meet some of the filmmakers in town for the Gimli Film Festival. |

Host Chris Jackson explores the intriguing Ontario Place, located in Toronto Ontario. He catches the BuskerFest -with an international ensemble of street performers such as magicians and jugglers. Next he checks out some of Canada's hottest Beach Volleyball Players at the Ontario Place OKI Open Pro Volleyball Tournament. Come evening, it's time to experience VAREKAI a performance by Cirque du Soleil -a circus troupe from Quebec that has taken the world by storm. |

Today, we visit Collingwood, Ontario. We'll slip on our blue suede shoes and hound dog over to the ever-popular Molson Canadian Collingwood Elvis Festival. Chris gets outfitted with an Elvis wig and some cool digs and learns a couple of moves from a bonafied Tribute Artist. Later, he'll meet the Sweet Inspirations -a gospel trio that sang back up for the King in Vegas during his "I'm Back" era. And finally he'll catch the Elvi as they shake their pelvi at the Elvis Tribute Championships. |

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Quebec's Magdelan Islands, located in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. We'll check out the windsurfing action at the Magdalen Islands PWA Grand Slam Freestyle Preview. Host, Chris Jackson, gets lifted off his feet when he's given a kite surfing lesson on the beach. Later, we watch our hunky guide get caked in natural clay and take the Reservoir Dog -wannabe's out into the Gulf to wickedly rough swim in the waves in and out of the shoreline caves formed by the Island. |

On this episode of Tanlines, we explore Ontario's Niagara Region, starting with a visit to Sherkston Shores, a long time favourite Lake Erie resort. Then we'll head to the Falls. Next we head to Niagara-on-the-Lake were Chris hops aboard the Wet Jet Tour and get soaked riding the wake up the Niagara River. After taking in the sights and a few gallons of water, Chris opts for a helicopter tour to see the rest of the region, including the many wineries. |

Relaxing in Grand Cayman is what it's all about for Chris while he's in the Caribbean. He takes in a little scuba diving and feeds giant stingrays at underwater Sting Ray City. He then visits the endangered Giant Sea Turtles at the Cayman Turtle Farm and sends postcards from HELL -a unique part of the island characterized by its sharp lava rock. Chris also talks calypso with Barefoot Man -a local legend. Finally, he finds time to eat at the local Taste of Grand Cayman food festival. |

Dancing, water sports, 20-something poolside parties and especially the bikini contests bring Chris to Clearwater, Florida. - known for its crystal clear beaches, is Chris' destination on this episode. He visits Shepherd's Resort, famous for its 20-something poolside parties and helps judge their famous Sunday afternoon bikini contests and Booty Shake competition. Chris also enjoys some of the resort's water sports, like Jet Skiing, banana boating and parasailing. |

Chris heads to the Wakestock World Cup - the largest wakeboarding festival in the world, held in Wasaga Beach, Ontario - to guest-judge the ever-growing Miss Wakestock competition. He also catches up with punk and ska bands GOB and Goldfinger, in town for the big event. |

Chris soaks up the beach culture in sunny San Diego. He takes a surf lesson from local legend Pat Weber at his Surf Academy, and then takes flight with a pro paraglider above San Diego's famous nude beach. Next up, he explores the La Jolla caves with the babes from Hike Bike Kayak. |

Key West is Chris' party destination for this episode. First he goes on a dolphin watching expedition with Captain Seaweed. Then he settles in for the Pride Parade where he meets with the original designer of the Rainbow flag, who is preparing for the flag's 25-year anniversary celebration. Chris ends the day with a bar crawl -witnessing everything from drag queen performances to flogging. Whether you're gay or straight, Pride Fest provides non-stop fun. |

Chris heads to gorgeous Nassau, Bahamas and takes in resort life at the Cable Beach Radisson Hotel. He plays a round of golf with their resident pro, gets in on the Beach Olympics and checks out the evening entertainment, which includes a Junkanoo dinner show. Off the resort, Chris meets the organizers of People to People, a tourist office initiative that pairs foreigners with Bahamians who share similar interests. |

Chris visits the City of Angles to check out the beach culture and beyond. He heads to the Venice Beach boardwalk for some serious people watching and meets up with Poorman of Poorman's Bikini Beach. Chris gets in on the taping of an episode of the outrageous beach show and plays a judge in the episode's skim-boarding contest, between members of the Bikini Brigade. Next, Chris swings by Santa Monica to follow the daredevils of the Friday Night Skate troop. |

Chris touches down in Maui -one of the most beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands. He enjoys resort life at its finest, but also ventures out on the famous road to Hana, which is said to be one of the most picturesque drives on the planet. Chris also visits the historic town of Lahaina during their annual canoe festival. Finally he winds down at a Luau featuring the best of Hawaiian and Tahitian dance. |

Chris visits the Hawaiian Island of Oahu - home to the infamous North Shore. The breaks are too big for Chris to surf, but he checks out the pros ripping the curls and talks shop with locals about surf culture. A highlight of this trip is a visit to Turtle Bay Resort where the contestants of the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Bikini Pageant were frolicking poolside. After too much sun, Chris chills out with a well-deserved sunburn treatment at the local Serenity Spa. Finally, he heads out to a unique bar. |

Chris checks out "P-Town" as it's locally known and drops into the town's annual Film Festival where he meets comedian Georgia Ragsdale - producer of the film Wave Babes. Later, we take a guided tour of the National Seashore sand dunes where the likes of Tennessee Williams and other famous poets, writers and artists were squatters in dune shacks. The next tour is by sea -Chris heads out with Dolphin Fleet Tours to catch a glimpse of the area's rare Humpback Whale. |

'Everyting is everyting' on the Island of Jamaica. Chris enjoys Negril, by taking in a little resort life and snorkeling off 7-mile beach. Later he heads out to Appleton Rum Estate for a tour of the facility and to blend some of his very own 'Tanlines Rum'. Later Chris watches fire dancers and limbo acrobats strut their stuff across the sand at the resort before heading out to scope out the action at sunset hot-spot, Rick's Cafe. |
